Editorial Assistant

Are you looking to build your editorial career within academic publishing? If you have a strong sense of curiosity and are open to learning about topics in a variety of academic areas, especially History, then this rare opportunity for an Associate Editor could be your entry with this leading academic publisher! You must be an organised administrator who will provide editorial support to the publishing team and will work on product research, development and production of digital collections of historical primary sources.

You will have first class communication skills, a keen attention to detail and will enjoy working as part of a team. An interest in History and some office experience in a publishing or media environment would be highly advantageous, although not essential.

The position is currently remote working however it will become a hybrid working role with 1 or 2 days per week in their Hampshire office - which is a must.

Essential requirements include:

    • Flexible approach to tasks and a ‘can do’ attitude
    • Keen attention to detail and follow-through.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong numeracy skills and financial literacy.
    • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work calmly in a sometimes-high-pressure environment.
    • Discreet and respectful of confidentiality.
