Editorial Assistant (Fixed Term Contract, Academic, London

A leading Academic publisher is currently seeking an Editorial Assistant to join their London office on an initial 5 month fixed term contract. This role will focus on new content recently acquired by this publisher and will work on developing a programme of e-learning courses and accompanying material within budget and to a set schedule. An immediate start is would be ideal.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with familiarity with publishing systems and processes with a good editorial skill set and has an understanding of the Academic Journal publishing process. They are looking for a highly organised individual who can demonstrate excellent time management, prioritisation and planning skills. You must be able to also demonstrate this with examples. Both verbal and written communication skills are essential.

 

Key Skills Required:

  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record keeping
  • Able and used to working to a high standard of accuracy under pressure
  • Competent in use of MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • An understanding of the print and digital production/publishing process
  • Experience of database and systems maintenance

You will also ideally have:

  • STM/Academic/Professional publishing background
  • An understanding of the Academic Journal Peer Review Process
  • In-house editorial and/or production experience
  • An interest in digital publishing, new technologies and how they can enhance learning
