Editorial Freelancers (Children's Publishing)

A publisher of popular illustrated children’s fiction and non-fiction is looking for an experienced freelance editors to work in their offices in the South West.  

Key duties:

  • Work on a diverse range of original titles, including novelty, picture books and illustrated reference
  • Project manage an agreed list of titles
  • Oversee design briefing, approvals, schedules and quality control for the list
  • Brief and work closely with designer
  • Liaise with licensors and out of house contributors to acquire materials
  • Provide a creative and compelling rationale for publishing projects

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience editing children’s titles essential for this role
  • You need to be good at working in a team and confident under pressure
  • This role requires a good creative eye
  • Editorial project management experience is essential for this role
