Editorial Manager, 12 month maternity cover, Education, London

Our client is an innovative, creative and established London based publisher of educational materials and they are seeking highly efficient Editorial Manager to cover a 12 month maternity contract to work on their print and electronic products for schools (primary to lower secondary). 

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing and developing projects through from the point of manuscript handover to delivery of finished copies. This will involve preparing material for external suppliers, managing freelancers, creating detailed briefs for projects, setting and maintaining all budgets and schedules. You will ensure that all projects conform to the company’s quality standards, liaise closely with suppliers and contributors, checking that all fees, royalties and payment terms are clearly agreed by all parties.

The ideal candidate will have proven editorial skills in both print and electronic educational titles, and will have a solid understanding of print publishing processes.  Experience of digital publishing is desirable but not essential however an interest in this area would definitely be advantageous! You will have excellent project management skills, confident in managing external freelancers and a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills and will be a self-motivated worker.
