Editorial Project Manager

A highly successful, and fast growing publishing services company, focused on helping educational publishers around the globe, are seeking an Editorial Project Manager to join their friendly, supportive and collaborative team on a full-time, permanent basis. The company offer great flexibility, an excellent salary and career development opportunities, and have a 28-hour working week as their full time! The role can be based remotely initially with a view to having a hybrid set-up in the future, combining home-office days with Oxford-office days.

The Editorial Project Manager will be part of the team responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the company's varied schools and ELT publishing projects, acrosss digital, print and blended. These will range from Early Years to Further Education, spanning the UK and international curricula, and cover all subject disciplines. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage either a high-profile intense project or a portfolio of ongoing packaging / publishing services projects as required
  • Design, estimate and schedule upcoming projects
  • Advise on schedule and capacity implications for prospective work
  • Manage and build relationships with freelancers, including securing their time
  • Maintain and build relationships with partner organisations, for example developers, typesetters and designers
  • Keep the directors informed of the state of running projects, and alert them early to potential difficulties and opportunities
  • Manage and develop internal processes

The Editorial Project Manager will have strong project management skills combined with educational publishing experience (editorial with project management responsibility or project management working closely with editorial colleagues), and may prior experience having worked in a role as Editor, Project Editor, Project Manager or Commissioning Editor or similar.
