Executive Editor

A prestigious scientific journals publisher based in Cambridge are looking for an Executive Editor to join their team on a permanent basis. This senior level position is best suited to someone from a journals background, who has extensive experience with the peer review process, and who holds a scientific degree.

The successful candidate will be accountable for developing and implementing the journals publishing strategy in line with KPIs. Taking the lead on the implementation of the journals development plan is also a key part of this role with a team of up to 5 direct reports to be responsible for. In addition to line management duties, the Executive Editor will have budget management responsibilities across the journals portfolio in collaboration with the Publisher.

Our client is looking for someone with an innovative mind, able to identify new opportunities for growth in terms of products and services. It will also be important to develop and maintain long-standing relationships with authors and readers for the journals through networking as well as commissioning, so attendance at conferences involving travel will be key for this role.
