Our client, a globally recognised and respected academic publisher, is searching for an adaptable and strategic Executive Publisher to manage and develop a portfolio of chemistry journals and additional products and services within their scientific department.

If you are an experienced and knowledgeable publishing professional with a background both educationally and professionally in the chemical sciences, this could be the perfect position for you.

As Executive Publisher, the key day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the negotiation of editorial contracts and the acquisitions of new titles.
• Building and maintaining a strong network of scientific professionals both within and beyond the network of existing editors, authors and societies.
• Contributing to complex industry discussions with key stakeholders and influencing where possible.
• Developing the allocated journal portfolio with emphasis on content growth and quality strategy.
• Attending and representing the company at editorial board meetings, key conferences and exhibitions where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or higher, ideally in a relevant discipline. A successful track record in portfolio development and journal management will be crucial to the success of this position. 
Additionally, they will demonstrate ability to confidently work independently with academic authors, editors and professional societies. Proven experience of managing a list of journals in a scientific editorial capacity is essential.
