Commissioning Editor, Crime

With a list that includes the legendary PD James, the internationally best-selling Peter Swanson, the critically lauded Laura Lippman and cosy crime queen Nicola Upson, the Faber crime list is poised for exponential growth. We are now looking for an editor to drive this next phase of our criminal life.

The new editor will acquire brilliant new writers, edit their work and drive all aspects of the strategy, delivering an even broader, industry-leading list with a unique character. You will be tasked with engaging new readerships and communities. You will also be expected to publish with dynamism and creativity, sensitivity and bravery -- and with serious commercial impact.

Key qualities will be a proven entrepreneurial flair, creative vision and a rounded experience of the publishing industry. It is likely that you will have strong connections to crime publishing.

Editorial experience is not a prerequisite of this significant new role.

This new role will report to Louisa Joyner, Associate Publisher.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
