Foreign Rights Manager (Eastern Europe)

This is an exciting opportunity for a Rights Manager to join the busy co-editions sales team at a well-known publisher of illustrated non-fiction based in London. You will be responsible for co-edition sales to the Eastern and Central European market and fluency in an appropriate language is highly desirable.

 

Key duties:

  • Sell co-edition rights of allocated illustrated adult non-fiction lists into the Eastern and Central European markets (including the Baltics and Russia)
  • Maximise rights sales turnover and profit for agreed territories, working to agreed revenue targets
  • Research and identify prospective new customers and exploit potential for sales growth
  • Liaise with colleagues in production on pricing and schedules
  • Attend book fairs and undertake regular sales trips to allocated territories

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid rights sales experience in a trade book publishing environment
  • An understanding of co-editions sales and ideally experience in selling co-editions
  • Knowledge of the Eastern and Central European trade publishing market
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • First-class communication and negotiation skills and fluent written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in an Eastern European language
  • Willingness to travel regularly
