Foreign Rights Manager

Our client, a leading Trade publisher of illustrated non-fiction based in Central London, is looking for an experienced sales or rights professional to join their team on a fixed-term 12-month contract with the potential to be extended. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a creative and highly successful company and take responsibility for a variety of markets, which may include Germany and Eastern Europe.

Key duties:

• Sell co-edition rights of illustrated adult non-fiction lists into allocated markets
• Maximise rights sales turnover and profit, working to agreed revenue targets to achieve budget
• Research and identify prospective new customers and exploit potential for sales growth
• Liaise with colleagues in production on pricing and schedules
• Undertake regular sales trips to allocated territories and attend book fairs

Experience / skills required:

• Solid rights sales experience in a trade book publishing environment
• An understanding of co-editions sales and ideally experience in selling co-editions
• Able to work well in a team and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• First-class communication and negotiation skills and fluent written and spoken English
• Proficiency in a European language to native standard
• Willingness to undertake 10 weeks travel a year
