Freelance Children's Book Editor (Fiction)

Our client require an experienced Children’s fiction book Editor, ages 7-11 with copy editing experience and to read / proofread a backlog of manuscripts. This assignment will run until December 2015 with possible extensions.  Starting ASAP!

 

Key duties:

· Copy-editing on a fiction title(s)

· Collate material, ensure copy is received from author and prepare to send to production

· Liaise with freelance copy editors / proof readers and submit manuscript for editing

· Check copy once returned for accurate changes

· Liaise with author from receipt of manuscript to publication

· General admin including data entry and updating of info on publishing database

 

Experience / skills required:

· Excellent editorial skills and good knowledge of the editorial and production processes

· Experienced in editing, copy/editing children’s fiction

· Good eye for detail

· Ability to multi task effectively

· Exceptional communication skills and confidence to deal confidently with authors
