What you'll be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join Orion’s award-winning and dynamic Communications team, working on a varied spread of inspiring and thought-provoking non-fiction and playing a key role in launching our new business and smart thinking imprint. A confident and well-connected self-starter, you will be embedded in the Communications team, but will work closely with our Commercial Non-Fiction imprints to feed into growth strategy, alongside working on a diverse range of titles from cookery, wellness to celebrity non-fiction.

You’ll play a crucial role in every step of a book’s journey, from acquisition to publication and beyond – devising and communicating first-rate, integrated marketing plans, creating eye-catching and impactful media campaigns and creatives, collaborating with retailers and influencers, planning and implementing paid and organic digital campaigns, working with partners and third-party stakeholders, maintaining excellent relationships with authors and agents, and reporting on campaign performance.

This role will have one line report, with future potential for growth in this area depending on experience.

Who we are looking for

Strong copywriting, digital marketing and communication skills are essential, as is exemplary stakeholder management and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business. You’ll be able to demonstrate excellent budget management and outstanding attention to detail as well as bringing initiative, creativity, and passion to the role. You’ll also have a strong visual eye and are known for your considered creative execution.

Beyond campaigns, you’ll have a strong interest in consumer trends and marketing innovations outside the publishing industry, and consistently look at ways to feed this awareness into your day-to-day work.
