Head of Editorial (Childrens & Illustrated)

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Editorial to join a highly successful mass market book UK publisher mainly working across their children’s books division. 

This role also includes working with range of non-fiction books which includes a list of popular adult mass market illustrated reference books. You'll be overseeing both children's and adult reference teams.

You’ll be mainly leading the children’s editorial team and developing the agreed range of mass market children’s titles reporting to the Publisher and working closely with the other creative heads.

You'll need between 5-8 years’ experience working in a very busy children’s non-fiction mass market book publishing. Ideally you’ll have good editorial experience working with of picture books, non-fiction, baby, toddler, novelty.

You'll need to be very commercial, be able to work within a set budget and thrive in a very busy and creative publishing team under pressure, and of course enjoy  working with books.

The salary range for this role is highly competitive and will depend on the level of experience you can bring to the role plus Company benefits. This is a permanent role based outside of London around one-hour commute from the main line stations.
