Head of Pedagogy (Learning) - EnglishUp
EnglishUp is looking for a Head of Pedagogy to deliver its English Language Learning Journey. Someone who understands English language learning in a digital context and will help create simple yet highly engaging learning journeys for our beginner level English language learners globally.
We need someone who is able to -
• Drive the thinking on content, determining what we need to do to deliver our offering effectively. and expand the network of tutors globally and also ensure they get trained to effectively deliver our pedagogy
• Work effectively with stakeholders to obtain content or get it produced/re-purposed for our offering
• Continuously look for innovative ideas to enhance the learning journey (e.g., new technologies, learning approaches) by talking to tutors, linguists, internal experts, attending conferences, etc.
Desired Skills and Experience -
• Educated to degree level; ideally from a linguistics related subject.
• Experience of working with the ELL space (either in a language school or ideally with an online service provider) however could be a former teacher or linguist or expert working with an ELL school.
• Worked with students and/or be able to demonstrate an understanding of what makes them learn well and what puts them off online/offline
• Be energetic and independent- excited by the prospect of working in a start up, comfortable with significant responsibility and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
• Have a track record of strong performance
• Have strong relationship skills as required to work closely with tutor community and internal stakeholders
• A passion for ELL would be advantageous
