Head of Publisher Relations

This Head of Publisher Relations role is a newly created position working for an established publishing licensing agency based in lovely offices in central London.  This is an excellent opportunity for a senior and well-networked publishing professional to join a thriving company at an exciting time.

 

Key duties:

  • Devise and implement a strategy to engage with publishers on licensing, product and rights management issues
  • Ensure key accounts are managed effectively and systematically
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of publishers’ needs and share with colleagues as required
  • Collaborate with other associated collective management organisations
  • Attend meetings, conferences and book fairs to promote the work of the agency
  • Line manage two direct reports and act as key contact with US based consultant
  • With the Communications Manager, manage all external communications and marketing

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive experience in academic, professional, educational or B2B publishing
  • Some proven experience in a senior management position
  • A wide network of contacts within the publishing industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, motivate and influence
  • An understanding of the significance of rights and licensing in publishing
  • Willingness to engage with new technology
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
