Head of UK Sales

This Head of UK Sales position is an exciting opportunity for a results driven senior sales manager to take on a strategic and managerial role with a market-leading publisher of professional education resources.  The role is home based with regular travel within the territory and would suit someone based in the South of England.

 

Key duties:

  • Line manage, support and motivate the UK sales team
  • Responsible for monitoring the team’s performance to ensure targets are achieved
  • Manage weekly and monthly revenue budgets and forecasting
  • With the Group Commercial Director and the sales team, prepare annual budgets
  • Responsible for sales to professional training providers and book retailers in assigned territory
  • Manage relationships with key book wholesalers
  • Drive growth of existing business and work to identify new business and product opportunities

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive publishing sales experience in the UK, ideally in academic or professional publishing
  • Experience of managing and developing a field-based UK sales team
  • Self-motivated with a sales and target oriented approach
  • First-class communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to monitor and report on activities and performance and produce quotations and proposals
  • Willing to travel regularly within the territory and a full clean driving licence
