Head of UK Sales - Children's Publishing

We are so excited to be recruiting for a leading trade publisher of children's books based in central London. They are now looking for a Head of UK Sales to cover parental leave for est. 12 month contract starting mid March 2020.

Reporting to the UK Sales and Marketing Director, and Group Export Sales Director, you will be tasked to manage the UK sales team, create and implement a strategy as well as deliver on the sales budget, and develop lasting relationships and partnerships in order to sell directly into them.

Key responsibilities of the role include: managerial duties, managing the sales team to their full potential, devising and implementing cohesive strategy, agreeing revenue and profit for all sales sectors as well as managing company overstocks. You will be required to assess suitability of all titles for the special sales market, selling the current and backlist programme into new and current accounts. Identifying and researching new business opportunities. Managing the budget, monitoring title and customer performance in line with targets.

This position will also work closely with Waterstones to manage this account and grow the sales through promotions, negotiating terms, presenting new titles, ensuring stock and communicating regularly.

The successful candidate will be a creative individual with strong experience in UK Sales. You will be numerate with a proven sales track record. You will be have strong presentation skills and enjoy building relationships both internally and externally. You will have excellent coaching and mentoring skills, able to get the best out of people.
