About the Role

We currently seek a highly motivated and experienced Inside Sales Representative to join the dynamic and growing team responsible for selling OUP’s market-leading online resources such as the Oxford Journals, Oxford English Dictionary Online, Oxford Reference Online and Oxford Scholarship Online.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • preparing and implementing sales strategies to maximise sales of Online Products and Journals to institutional customers
  • co-ordinating research into new prospects and new sales opportunities in order to identify areas for growth
  • making specialist sales calls by phone to countries around the world following up journal cancellations; improving contacts and identify upselling opportunities for OUP journal collections and archive.
  • building and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of OUP’s electronic product offering as it develops
  • acquiring and maintaining a demonstrably thorough knowledge of the electronic information publishing industry to help maintain OUP’s competitive advantage and respond well to customer requirements

 

About You

The ideal candidate will be a publishing or publishing-related professional, able to demonstrate experience in sales or marketing, and educated to degree level or equivalent.
You should be highly results-oriented, a confident communicator with strong negotiating skills and strong interpersonal skills; extremely organised and able to effectively manage a high volume, complex workload through prioritisation of tasks in line with departmental objectives, and highly skilled in using software packages such as Excel, with a proven aptitude to learn and work with new systems
It would be desirable if you have knowledge of the electronic information publishing industry, its products, markets and trends.
