International Sales Manager – STM Society

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a world leading STM society as their International Sales Manager. As a first class knowledge provider, they publish the highest quality science, engineering and medicine research in many formats and are a valued and trusted partner to the worldwide academic and commercial communities.

Reporting to the Head of Publishing Operations, the International Sales Manager will actively promote the Society’s journal portfolio in order to build sales, increase readership and raise the global profile of the journals among the academic and research community. The main responsibilities of the role include;

  • Managing the commercial sales activities of the society.
  • Building new business through the sale of subscriptions and licences.
  • Negotiating and agreeing sales proposals in line with an agreed sales plan.
  • Identifying and researching opportunities for growth in key markets.
  • Promoting and optimising renewal of journal subscription and licences.
  • Developing relationships with global agents, distributors and the library community.
  • Managing the progress and sales pipeline of contracted sales representatives and agents.
  • Attending national and international market events as required to promote the society.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. They will have knowledge of B2B sales processes and will be able to budget and forecast sales revenues and costs. They will also be aware of trends in online publishing. Knowledge of academic and subscription publishing is desirable.
