IP Rights & Project Specialist
Our client, a leading educational publisher is looking for a Rights and Project Specialist to join their Intellectual Property Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with contracts experience within the publishing sector to be part of a very active team and ensure all legal and rights issues are addressed.
Key duties:
- Manage product’s rights and support special editions through to print
- Draft and negotiate contracts for new lists and re-launch of successfully publications
- Negotiate additional rights (eg. audio and digital rights for multicomponent products)
- Draft third party license agreements
- Handle permission requests
Experience / skills required:
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts within publishing is essential
- Strong project management skills and ability to multitask complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate diplomatically and effectively
- Good financial understanding relating to calculating royalties, profits and losses
- Basic understanding of copyright law and author rights
