Are you looking to progress your career within journals publishing with a leading and highly successful publishing organisation?  Are you looking for an opportunity to develop and challenge yourself further on a daily basis?  Due to growth, our client is looking for a talented journals professional to provide editorial development support across a wide range of subject areas within their journals division. This role will be responsible for contributing to the quality in all editorial aspects of journal publishing.

We are looking for a candidate who is motivated, enthusiastic and has a track-record of helping to develop scholarly journals.

The Journals Development editor will be responsible for:

  • Generating ideas for development and driving these projects
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time by working closely with colleagues in relevant teams
  • Work with colleagues to advise and assist in developing publications , including attending and presenting at editorial board meetings
  • Work with the research and analytics team to ensure appropriate data is analysed and presented
  • Support any cross-departmental projects
  • Work with the Publishing Manager to set up and run a programme of topic based editorial development workshops/master classes for colleagues

This is a great role for a candidate interested in pursuing a journals career and the ideal candidate will have relevant academic journal experience, able to think innovatively about publishing, demonstrate commercial awareness and possess the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues.

You will have a good knowledge of journal publishing processes and market awareness, strong attention to detail and able to prioritise your workload as well as meet deadlines.
