Junior Designer

Andersen Press is looking for a highly creative, talented and hardworking junior designer to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the UK’s best independent children’s book publishers, learning about all aspects of book design across a list that includes pre-school novelty, picture books and fiction, from iconic award-winning classics to exciting titles from emerging talent.

The successful candidate will be an excellent designer with a love of children’s books and a great eye for children’s design and illustration. Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator programmes and a good grasp of typography are essential. Working on the picture book, novelty and fiction lists from conception to production, excellent communication skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and an enjoyment of making a difference in a small, tight-knit creative team are also fundamental to the role.

Previous experience in children’s publishing would be an advantage, but if you feel you can demonstrate the talent and potential this role requires, we would also love to hear from you.

To apply please send a CV and application letter, along with digital samples of your design work to Beccy Garrill: beccy@andersenpress.co.uk

The closing date for applications is 24th August.

Please apply directly. Do not click on the apply button. Thanks.
