Editor/Senior Editor – Children’s Books
Location: London, UK
Type: Editorial
Salary Description: Competitive
Closing date: 8th March 2021
Description:
We’re looking for a creative, confident editor with at least three to five years’ experience in children’s books to join our talented picture book team.
The role could suit an exceptional editor or a senior editor: what matters is that you have passion, drive, and plenty of new ideas to contribute to this vibrant, award-winning list.
You will need to be flexible, meticulous and organised, with strong editorial skills, an eye for art, and knowledge of the current children’s book market.
We’re looking for a versatile editor who has a passion for nurturing authors, editing texts and commissioning commercial titles, but also an ability to brainstorm and develop innovative stories in-house.
You will have flair for writing attention-grabbing copy, and a talent for solving editorial problems – seeing which texts do not work, which have potential, and what’s needed to make them great. Proficiency at copy-editing and proofreading is essential, as is the ability to prioritise, to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines and to organise the administrative day-to-day tasks of an editor with speed and competency.
To apply: email your CV and covering letter, stating current salary, to Ellie Farmer efarmer@littletiger.co.uk with the subject header ‘Editor / Senior Editor LTG’, by 8th March 2021. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
