Head of Rights, Maternity Cover
We are looking for someone to join our successful Children's Rights team for a maternity cover contract of 12 months.
You will have the opportunity to sell co-editions and sub-rights across our novelty, picture book, fiction and non-fiction lists to specified international territories. You will be responsible for maximising rights sales turnover and profit for agreed territories, reaching and exceeding sales targets.
You will be building relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders, and liaising with colleagues to ensure the success of co-edition printing. This role will have line management of two members of the rights team who you will help to develop and mentor.
There may be some travel across the territories and to major book fairs, covid restrictions permitting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience of rights sales experience in a book publishing environment
- Extensive co-edition sales experience
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in a second language
- Confidence working autonomously
- Experience using Biblio
We'd love it if you had:
- Previous experience of line management
- Fluency in Spanish
