Managing Editor

An established Trade publisher is looking to appoint a Managing Editor to take responsibility for the delivery of a range of print and digital content within their publishing programme. The company publishes accessible titles within the adult and children's sector, which reflect a Christian world view to a general audience in addition to resources for Christian families and communities.

Collaborating with internal colleagues you will manage all aspects of in-house and outsourced editorial tasks and will work with production colleagues to ensure timely scheduling delivers according to agreed publication dates. Additionally, you will lead on continuous business improvement through adopting 'best practice' processes in editorial.

You will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and will be able to propose solutions to your line manager and colleagues. First class editing and proof reading experience will be important as will be your strong sense of ownership. This role is ideal for someone with project management experience in illustrated books.

Due to the nature of the publications involved, this role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement to be a practising Christian.
