Managing Editor

An exciting role has come up with an independent trade publisher in London for a Managing Editor. You will be manage a list of approximately 20-30 books in the areas of health, wellbeing, diet & fitness, self-help, MBS, parenting, and brain-training and other categories. The ideal candidate will have significant knowledge and experience in illustrated non-fiction and co editions and the energy and vision to project manage trade-based lists, and ensure that titles are produced to schedule and budget. You should understand the editorial process from concept to final publication and have a strong commercial awareness.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to manage projects and strong communication and negotiation skills. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and thrive working independently. You will be a creative and commercially aware individual with proven experience managing a list and team of freelancers. You will ideally come from an illustrated non-fiction background in trade publishing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a critical role in this growing company.
