Managing Editor

Our client is a highly respected, international association that represents legal professionals worldwide. With modern offices in central London, they publish a range of publications including a flagship magazine, journals, newsletters, books and e - products and they are looking for a talented and innovative Managing Editor to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong editorial background and an interest in international law and business, working for a fantastic not for profit organisation. Although this will be working on magazines and journals, our client is open to seeing Editorial candidates from a general content and editorial background, excited to join a business and gain experience in a vibrant multimedia setting!

As Managing Editor, reporting in to the Director of Content, you will be responsible for managing the commissioning and production processes for all editorial content and across all formats. Key responsibilities will include; commissioning exciting new content for the flagship magazine, overseeing the entire production process of each publication, liaising closely with an Editorial Board for content proactively working with them to ensure content is suitable, of interest and adheres to the strategy, managing the publications, ensuring content and products are delivered according to schedule and budget, assisting the Director of Content in commissioning and editing content for the flagship publication and working hands on editorially across multiple formats as and when required. In addition you will have the opportunity to project manage publishing activity related to other products.

The successful candidate will have proven commissioning and editorial experience. You should have an interest and/or passion for working with international, business and legal content with the ability to forge effective relationships with a wide range of contacts such as authors and senior management within the organisation. You should have first class editorial and project management skills with the ability to work on a range of projects at any one time and excellent communication skills.
