Managing Editor (ELT)
A prestigious publisher of English Language Teaching materials based in central London is looking for a Managing Editor to work on their international schools list. The successful candidate will have a background in schools education publishing for the international market and ideally in the area of ELT.
Key duties:
- Manage the editorial process from approved manuscript through to publication
- Work closely with editorial, design and production to ensure titles are delivered on time and to budget
- Oversee all proof / delivery stages within the editorial team
- Manage authors and freelance suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time and to brief
- Identify project milestones, risks and deliverables
- Implement best practice guidelines as directed by the Publishing Manager
Experience / skills required:
- Solid editorial project management experience within educational book publishing
- Experience and knowledge of the schools education sector either through teaching or publishing
- Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects to tight deadlines
- A proven interest in ELT or language learning
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- A proactive approach and excellent communication skills
