Marketing Manager, Collins Learning (9 month contract)
Collins has been publishing educational and informative books for almost 200 years. Throughout this rich heritage we have maintained an impressive record in creating market-leading products across various sectors. Our publishing for schools continues to deliver up-to-date and engaging student resources and exceptional teacher support to help schools tackle new initiatives and utilise the latest technology. We produce resources for UK and International curricula to support teachers and pupils at school and outside the classroom environment.
We are currently looking to recruit a Marketing Manager for a 9 month contract to cover maternity leave. The role will be responsible for managing and delivering successful marketing campaigns for the Collins English, Languages, ELT and International Schools lists to trade and institutional markets in the UK and overseas. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the successful candidate will be building brand awareness whilst leveraging the strengths, heritage and brand values of Collins and Collins COBUILD brands. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid marketing experience and excellent knowledge within the ELT or education sectors looking to work in a leading and respected educational publishing team.
Responsibilities
Work with colleagues to create and implement regional marketing plans on time and to budget, using the full marketing mix, including digital and social media
Plan and project manage Collins ELT and International Schools exhibition calendars
Co-ordinate ELT author talks, tours and presence at conferences internationally
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure planned activity is well communicated, to ensure campaigns are well supported in order to drive sales and customer relationships
Produce effective marketing materials, working with both internal and external stakeholders
Build and maintain mailing lists to deliver effective direct mail campaigns and ensure online content is kept up to date with relevant and timely messaging
Support the sales team with lead generation and other support to drive sales
Skills/Experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Excellent marketing or sales experience within ELT or education
Strong interpersonal skills
Good relationship building skills
Ability to write effective and persuasive copy
Excellent organisation skills
A Customer-focussed approach to marketing
Project and event management skills
Experience in online marketing channels
We’re based in the News Building which we share with our News UK and Dow Jones colleagues in the newly-established London Bridge Quarter, opposite the famous Borough Market. Our new open-plan office has amazing views across London, and includes a variety of break-out areas to aid inspiration and a collaborative approach, a multi-media suite, and a fabulous canteen floor and book shop.
