Marketing Manager, Open Access

Our client, a leading academic publisher in London, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, creative and innovative Marketing Manager who will be responsible for planning and delivering results driven marketing strategies for open access journals and support the Open Access launch and acquisition strategy. You will create first rate marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix of promotional channels including social media to ensure the success of their exciting and expanding Journals portfolio.

 

You will work closely with other publishing divisions to successfully integrate marketing activities and maximize revenue, as appropriate. In this role you will collaborate with international marketing colleagues to develop and implement global marketing strategies through journal cross-promotion and discipline marketing.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualise and lead onlinemarketing campaigns utilizing web based channels

  • Create and implement specific marketing campaigns for assigned products objectives-driven global marketing strategies

  • Manage journal list by making use of the full marketing mix of promotional channels including social media to meet specific strategic objectives.

  • Create and implement trackable marketing campaigns to meet strategic objectives to schedule and to budget.

  • Test, monitor and analyse campaign effectiveness, reviewing and revising plans on an ongoing basis, testing new strategies to reach submission targets and other agreed goals

  • Contribute to proposals and presentations for new journal partnerships

  • Implement launch / transition activity for assigned titles

  • Work closely with Editorial, Production and Marcomms

  • Budget and forecast marketing spend for assigned products

  • Travel to and represent the company at conferences

  • Interact with authors and editors

You will be an experienced marketing publishing professional,  who is solutions focused, able to analyse information and work collaboratively with others, as well as:

  • Experience in digital marketing
  • Highly motivated, creative, innovative and a natural problem solver.
  • Experience and competence in other core marketing areas, including: strategic planning,budgeting; marketing planning, analysis, time management and presentation skills.

  • Computer literacy (particularly Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills.

  • Superior planning, communication and organisation skills

Experience of working with Open Access journals, budget management & forecasting experience and project/product management experience is preferred, but not required.
