Publishing Manager

The Poetry Society, one of the leading literature organisations in the UK, is seeking a dynamic Publishing Manager to run its publishing programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for new writing and exceptional practical skills, to play a key role developing and managing the publishing and digital strategy of the organisation. You’ll enjoy a creative hands-on role with plenty of variety, working closely with writers and an energetic team.

You’ll be responsible for the management and production of The Poetry Society’s acclaimed print publications and online publishing including: quarterly production of The Poetry Review, one of the most influential and widely-read poetry magazines in the world, the lively quarterly newspaper Poetry News, and a range of publications featuring commissions and new work from Poetry Society projects. Enthusiastic about digital innovation, you’ll oversee the continuing development of The Poetry Society’s popular websites and online content distribution.

The Poetry Society occupies an energising space at the heart of contemporary poetry, with its publications showcasing new poems, essays, ideas and interviews from a wide variety of writers, from major international names to the latest emerging talents.

Well organised, with a keen eye for detail and a flair for design, you’ll enjoy project-managing content through to publication, with skills in production, editing, writing, commissioning and management. You’ll play an active role within the development of the organisation, ensuring our publishing programmes are thriving, and continue to reflect The Poetry Society’s commitment to innovation, diversity, and quality, while engaging a growing audience.
