The Poetry Translation Centre (PTC) is seeking a part-time Publisher to develop our list including the award-winning World Poet Series. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with poetry or translation experience, an international outlook and an entrepreneurial spirit. We particularly welcome applications from candidates from diaspora heritage backgrounds.

The PTC was established by the poet Sarah Maguire in 2004, to introduce new audiences to leading poets from around the world, as well as better understand and celebrate the diverse communities who have made their home in the UK.

In 2019 the PTC launched the World Poet Series, a beautiful series of slim pocket-sized books in bilingual editions. These books make available to an English-language audience some of the most exciting contemporary voices from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Poets we have published include Coral Bracho, Bejan Matur, Yu Yoyo and Maxamed Ibraahin Warsame ‘Hadraawi’.

We publish four World Poet Series titles per year. We also publish full-length single-author collections under our own imprint, as well as a biennial anthology of poets shortlisted for the Sarah Maguire Prize.

We are seeking a part-time Publisher to take our publishing programme to the next level. You will work across the World Poet Series, the single-author collections and the Sarah Maguire Prize Anthology. You will also be responsible for the management of the biennial Sarah Maguire Prize, managing submissions and convening the judging panel.
