Production Controller
An international trade publisher in central London is looking for a Production Controller to work within their friendly production team. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your existing production skills in a department which works across high profile adult and children’s lists including co-editions. This is a 12 month contract position.
Key duties:
- Create and deliver a range of trade and special sales titles, from conception to delivery, working on both conventional and novelty products
- Manage costs, schedules, quality control and product development, solving any potential issue
- Negotiate favourable production costing to best achieve targets
- Take responsibility of own workload, prioritising appropriately while maintaining high quality standards
- Keep up to date with new developments within the print and production industries
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers, recording and providing feedback where necessary
Experience / skills required:
- Production experience within trade publishing is essential
- Strong knowledge of production processes, previous safety testing experience is a bonus
- Excellent time-management skills, able to work under pressure with a high level of efficiency
- Good communicator, able to build and maintain relationships
- Good negotiator, profit orientated and able to negotiate to tight margins
- An enthusiastic and proactive approach with a sharp eye for detail
