Production Editor
This a great opportunity for a Production Editor to join a society owned STM publisher based in central London. The successful candidate will manage the production of print and online journals. Please note that this is a 6 month contract role and our client is looking for someone to start ASAP.
Key duties:
- Manage the full production process of journals and ensure they are delivered on time and to budget
- Prepare and maintain publication schedules and contribute to establishing budgets
- Manage freelancers and suppliers, monitoring workflow and budget and ensure high quality standards
- Build and maintain solid relationships with authors, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels
- Keep up-to-date with STM market trends and identify opportunities for new products and services
- Deputise for line manager when required, ensuring excellent customer service
Experience / skills required:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a scientific field
- Demonstrable journals production editorial experience within STM publishing
- Solid knowledge of publishing processes and digital publications and products
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workflows and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Solid IT skills including web-based applications and a keen eye for detail
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude with a flexible approach and excellent customer service skills
