Production Editor, Academic, London

Our client, a highly respected name in academic publishing, is looking to appoint a journal Production Editor to take responsibility for coordinating the publication of a list of journal titles. The role will include ensuring that articles complete the production process within agreed timeframes, monitoring the work of freelance copy-editors and proofreaders, supporting academic editors, board members and authors through the production process, monitoring budgets and contributing to annual budget forecasts, and liaising with various internal departments to keep all stakeholders aware of important developments or problems.

 

Applicants will need proven experience of academic production/editorial work (journals or books) and be able to demonstrate copyediting and proofreading skills. The successful person will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, have the ability to keep multiple projects on schedule at any one time, have excellent administration and communication skills and a good eye for detail.
