Production Editor (Law)

Hart Publishing, an imprint of Bloomsbury Professional, and a well-respected publisher of Academic and Professional Law books, is looking for a production editor to join their friendly team in Oxford. This would be the perfect role for an editorial/production assistant looking for the next step in their publishing career.

 

Key duties:

  • Provide project costs and schedule estimates for a range of titles
  • Guide titles through the production process from manuscript to delivery
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure delivery of titles on schedule and budget
  • Oversee the production of a range of books, journals, and digital products
  • Other administrative duties as required

 

Experience / skills required:

  • You will have proven copy-editing and proof-reading skills
  • You will have prior production experience on books and/or journals
  • Experience in an Academic or Professional Law Publishing environment is desirable but not essential
  • You must have a keen eye for detail and excellent IT skills
  • Knowledge of XML-first workflows is highly desirable
