Project Editor - Trade Books

Are you an enthusiastic editorial professional with a passion for writing/editing travel publications?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Editor to work on a series of exciting travel publications for a top UK publisher of illustrated books, based in London.

This is a fantastic role within their travel division working on both print and digital formats, and will suit a person who enjoys being busy, who has a strong eye for detail and accuracy as well as the ability to self-manage.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the travel editorial team, Executive Editor and Managing Editor to initiate and develop new product ranges.
  • Liaising with authors, contributors, out-of-house editors and fact-checkers as well as other in-house departments
  • Ensure brand values and product guidelines are met.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in illustrated publishing
  • Proven understanding of all stages in the process of commissioning content, editing and producing illustrated content
  • Ability to project manage a busy list
  • Working to deadlines and to budget
  •  A good understanding of travel guide content
  • Extensive copy editing, proof reading and research skills
  • InDesign skills
  • Interest in the travel sector
  • Digital experience; in particular working with CMS (desireable)
