Senior Publicist

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished publicity professional to manage non-fiction (pop culture, politics, music, film) and some literacy fiction titles at a leading trade publisher in London. This full-time permanent role would suit someone who is ambitious and wants to be involved in the grow of the imprint with experience of running their own campaigns and managing authors. There is hybrid home/ office working on offer, 2 days a week at home/ 3 days a week in the office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be a driving force for the imprint by attending acquisition meetings and influences the imprint
  • Create and implement impactful publicity campaigns for books in the UK (and some in the US)
  • Work alongside the marketing executive to share ideas and coordinate plans
  • Secure coverage and reviews across print and online media to promote the list and drive sales
  • Organise and attend author events, media and bookseller meetings
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholder, authors and key media contacts

What you’ll have:

  • Solid experience in publicity in either in trade publishing or academic publishing on a consumer list
  • Passion and interest for radical non-fiction books
  • Confident to work autonomously and help shape the future of the list
  • Experience of creating and implementing effective publicity campaigns
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and proven experience of managing author and press relationships
