Publicity Manager for Non-Fiction (Maternity Cover)

At Pan Macmillan Non-Fiction we pride ourselves on our focused list of bestselling non-fiction books, which covers a broad spectrum from prize-winning history and biography, authoritative politics and popular science and the freshest new pop culture and humour titles. Our bestselling non-fiction authors include Andrew Marr, Richard Wiseman, Baroness Trumpington and Jon Ronson. Our exciting Autumn 2014 list features highlights such as astronaut Chris Hadfield, iconic designer Vivienne Westwood, presenter and cook Nadia Sawalha, model Kelly Brook and comedian Amy Poelher, to name but a few.

Pan Macmillan is looking for an experienced, skilled, self-motivated and highly-organised Publicity Manager to work in the Non-Fiction Communications department.

The position will involve:

• Devising, planning and overseeing trade and consumer PR campaigns and tours for non-fiction titles at Pan Macmillan across all media platforms
• Maintaining and building relationships with a broad range of key media contacts, broadcasters, journalists, bloggers and retailers in order to maximize publicity, PR opportunities and sales
• Having a strong understanding of reader communities
• Managing campaign budgets

This is a key role within our organisation, and as such we are looking for someone with experience running campaigns with a communications department of a publishing company or PR agency. You must be able to work autonomously and be good at prioritising work under pressure.  A passion for popular culture and books in general is a must.

This role is based in our London office.
