Publisher- Ladybird

Could you re-imagine the Ladybird brand for the millennial generation?

Penguin Random House Children’s is looking for a visionary and entrepreneurial Publisher to reinvent Ladybird as the go-to brand for storytelling for preschoolers. You will be the creative driver for innovative and ground-breaking content. You will be developing and leading a distinctive and compelling voice for a new and commercial Ladybird list for the UK and international markets.

The Ladybird imprint comprises some of the biggest brands in the children’s market today. Balancing content that is both fun and engaging with soft learning, you’ll be creating a completely new list to sit alongside the very successful licensing brands, such as Peppa Pig, Topsy and Tim and In the Night Garden.

Your role will be to grow and re-imagine the list for a new generation, while championing the brand values and ensuring that the high standard of editorial content, for which Ladybird is known, continues to thrive.

This role will suit a highly motivated visionary with both a creative and commercial approach to commissioning and publishing. With a strong understanding of the pre-school and developmental stages publishing market, you will also demonstrate robust, inspiring leadership and collaboration to be able to galvanise those around you to nurture and innovate the Ladybird brand.

You may have a background in children’s book publishing, or you may be working in the world of children’s media and entertainment more broadly (e.g. broadcast, magazines). What’s important to us is finding someone with the vision and ambition, combined with the practical skills to bring Ladybird to new heights.

If this role sounds like your perfect opportunity please apply with a CV and covering letter by Friday 7th August.
