Publisher - Earth Sciences

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Publisher to oversee the management and development of this highly profitable and successful Earth & Environmental Science Journal list.

Working for one of the world`s most successful publishers of academic books, journals and online products, this role will report to the editorial Director and will play a pivotal part in growing the journal list.

Key responsibilities will include daily management of a friendly, dedicated editorial team; leading commissioning bids and building good relationships with a global group of academic editors and learned society contacts.  You will oversee the financial health of the journal list and prepare financial projections.  Other responsibilities will involve working seamlessly with colleagues in Marketing, Production and other departments and offices and attending editorial board meetings.  There will be occasional attendance at conferences and other relevant events. This is a varied and demanding role, involving international travel.

The successful person will be educated to degree level and will have significant experience in academic journal publishing. The role demands energy and creative flair; sound commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.  You will have strong team management skills as well as having an awareness of academic editors` needs in their publishing activities.  Familiarity and/or an interest in Earth and Environmental Science would be an advantage but is not essential.
