Publisher / Executive Journals Editor

We are looking for a passionate journals editor to lead a world renowned biology list for a leading STM and Academic publisher based in Oxford. This role includes travel overseas to meetings and conferences as required.

 

Key duties:

  • Manage a team including journal publishing managers and a publishing assistant
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Achieve commercial success as well as driving scholarly impact and prestige
  • Acquire new society contracts, renew current contracts and investigate new business opportunities

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Significant experience in journals publishing with strong industry knowledge is essential
  • You will already have an established network of contacts
  • Prior experience of acquiring new contracts is required
  • You must be a proactive, self-motivated, team player
  • This role requires strong organisational, leadership and people skills
  • Strong negotiation skills are essential for this role
