Publishing Assistant

Our client is a leading global publisher of professional and academic books across a number of specialist lists. They are looking for a Publishing Assistant to support the publishing team and work closely with Development Editors and Commissioning Editors on all areas of the publishing process.

Based in London, this is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with some editorial experience looking to take their first steps in a dynamic publishing team.

As Publishing Assistant, you will be:

  • Support the team with meeting administration, preparing manuscript handovers and title briefings
  • Liaise with leading authors in the field and co-publishing partners on contracts, author questionnaires and relevant correspondence
  • Update database records using Biblio
  • Carry out customer facing market research to inform new editions and title briefings

The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent communication, attention to detail and organisation skills, as well as demonstrable experience in the ability to manage a number of different projects at one. Whilst publishing experience is desirable, it is not essential however we will be looking for the ability to work collaboratively in a team in order to develop good relationships with authors and other stakeholders. Strong experience in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook is also essential.

For a full description of the role, please send your CV with a brief paragraph outlining your relevant skills.

Closing Date: Early applications may be prioritised.
