Publishing Editor

 

We have a vacancy for a Publishing Editor to take responsibility for the publishing performance of a journal at a leading scientific organisation based in central London.

Key duties:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives through agreed targets
  • Role involves both editorial development and editorial and co-ordination of the peer review process
  • Act as the primary contact for top authors
  • Ensure high impact and visibility to ensure journal is the market leader in its area
  • Take responsibility for the financial and editorial performance of the journal
  • Travel to conferences, seminars and academic departments in the UK and internationally as required

Experience / skills required:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent), in a scientific subject
  • Excellent market and industry knowledge
  • Solid experience working in an editorial role in an STM journals publishing environment
  • Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and build relationships with academics / research scientists
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills are essential
