Publishing Manager

A well-respected independent publisher and quality author-services company is seeking a new Publishing Manager following a recent acquisition. This role will be responsible for delivering the publishing programme to existing customers and generating new business. This role is based in their Leicestershire offices.

 

Key duties:

  • Brief potential authors and sign up new titles
  • Manage the royalty system for books as required
  • Oversee and monitor budgets
  • Work with the Managing Editor to ensure the smooth running of the production schedule
  • Attend events and give presentations about the company
  • Hands on editorial and production tasks, including project managing, copy editing and proof reading
  • Contribute to the company’s future strategy

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven experience in trade publishing is essential for this role
  • A broad knowledge of book marketing and production is essential for this role
  • You will ideally be familiar with author-services companies and the self-publishing world
  • Excellent customer service and organizational abilities are essential
  • A full driving license is essential
