Publishing Manager (Journals Development)

We have an exciting position to work on the editorial development of a list of Psychology and Education journals for a leading STM publisher. This role is based in Oxford.

 

Key duties:

  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of titles on a list
  • Support academic editors and ensure that high quality of content is maintained
  • Attend editorial board and society meetings and present formal publisher reports
  • Oversee the delivery of bespoke web publishing projects
  • Undertake market research in collaboration with Commissioning Editors
  • Line manage a publishing assistant
  • Maintain a broad overview of developments in journals publishing, particularly electronic publishing

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Prior experience in a publishing is essential
  • You will have a good understanding of journal publishing processes and issues
  • Experience of working with academics in a publishing context is required
  • You must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of line management is preferred but not essential
  • This role requires occasional travel both within the UK and overseas
