Publishing Manager – Medical Education

A niche publishing company who specialise in online revision programmes, courses and books aimed at medical professionals are seeking a Publishing Manager, with experience in online content, to lead the planning and project management responsibilities of the publishing division.

The purpose of this role would be to plan, integrate and deliver projects across an online and print portfolio whilst leading a small team and reporting to the Operations Manager. The main responsibilities of the Publishing Manager role include;

  • Strategic development of the publishing portfolio for digital and print products.
  • Establishing, maintaining and managing key relationships with authors and online editors.
  • Significant input into the Digital Publishing strategy and the business planning process.
  • Responsibility for the new product development strategy and the assignment of commissioning editors to each product in the portfolio.
  • Delivering quality products.
  • Managing a team of editorial staff.

To be considered for this role you must be commercially aware with experience in devising and implementing a digital publishing strategy as well as commissioning and developing online and print products. The successful candidate will have line management and leadership experience whilst also possessing proven editorial and project management skills ideally within educational publishing. Experience in medical or STM publishing could be desirable but is definitely not essential.
