Publishing Sales Manager

The role will report to Global VP of Publisher Relations, and sits within the Publisher Relations team.  This is a critical part of the company's business and is essential to achieving their goals to grow in the UK and North America. You will support the growth initiatives by acquiring new business through networking, customer interfacing, marketing and lead generation. The main remit of the role includes:

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual contract signings and revenue quota
  • Actively identify and pursue ongoing sales opportunities
  • Work closely with marketing to develop ongoing outbound sales campaigns
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate records of leads and opportunities in internal databases
  • Remain informed about industry occurrences, trends and competition
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, tradeshows, and other sales-related events
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and proposals
  • Maintain customer relationships and identify up-sell opportunities
  • Manage content fulfillment, and act as project leader to streamline the process
  • Manage and maintain a pricing document used by the sales team for order fulfilment

The successful candidate will have good direct sales experience in either the publishing or software sectors, and have strong commercial acumen and critical thinking skills.  You will be extremely organized with great attention to detail and have the gravitas and confidence to speak with academics and business owners. Experience with content creation or curation is not required, but will be beneficial in the role.
