Want to manage an academic journal that makes a difference to the lives of animals?

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Managing Editor to work on our Diamond/Platinum open access, peer-reviewed journal, where success is measured in terms of impact on practice, not profits.

The Veterinary Evidence journal was launched in 2016 for veterinary professionals, by veterinary professionals. In less than four years the journal’s output has more than doubled and is read in over 150 countries. According to recent research, 100% of authors would re-submit to us and would recommend our content to colleagues.

As Managing Editor you will oversee the online-only publication process, and have line management responsibility for the Editorial and Production Assistant. You will devise and drive through every aspect of the journal’s development; from working with digital and communications colleagues on front-end design and marketing/communications; to liaising productively with influential editorial board members.

We are looking for a collaborative and motivated Managing Editor with effective stakeholder and editorial board management who will help grow the journal’s reputation, reach and impact. You must be able to work autonomously to ensure the journal continues to meet the needs of the veterinary profession. 

The successful candidate will become part of a close-knit team whose goal is to advance the quality of veterinary care for the benefit of animals, the public, and society.
