Reporter

Great role for an experienced news reporter to join a leading science publisher in central London.  You will produce news on health policy, clinical issues, interviewing experts and attending conferences.

 

Key duties:

  • Source, develop and write news and analysis articles
  • Represent your publication at meetings, symposia and press conferences and to report the proceedings/develop news stories and contacts
  • Manage and prepare material for the daily news site
  • Research and write feature articles as required by the features editor
  • Work with the art editor to research and develop data driven graphics to illustrate editorial content
  • Read page proofs, when required
  • Develop contacts within your sectors and keep abreast of developments, taking responsibility for beats/topics as determined by the news editor

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Relevant experience as a journalist / news writer/reporter within clinical / science news writing
  • Experience working in scientific, technical and medical publishing / MedComms or relevant field
  • Life sciences or pharmaceutical degree or equivalent would be beneficial as you’ll be reading and analysing clinical copy and producing engaging, accessible news
  • Strong news sense and ability to produce news for daily updates
  • Experience in working with online publishing tools and content management systems
  • Capable of coming up with ideas and developing them
  • Proven writing ability: can clearly express complex ideas and information, using appropriate styles and approaches for different audiences
